President’s Update

Hi All Runcorn Members,

We have survived another busy weekend hosting the zone dressage and combined training over 2 days. The later start on Saturday worked well with a great showing from all clubs to help set up. Even better that they all seemed quite hungry after that hard work and headed straight to the canteen for breakfast. We had several riders compete over the 2 days representing our club very well. An enormous thank you to those who helped with set up and equipment repairs, parking, raffle ticket selling and pack up over the 2 days particularly Hayden who did the work of a man. And special thankyou to everyone who helped in the canteen across the weekend. The canteen was busy all weekend. We received very pleasing feedback on the canteen, the grounds and in particular, how friendly everyone was. So well done Runcorn.

Although it has been a busy few weeks it has been very gratifying to deposit some significant cash into our account. It is the money from these extra events that allow us to keep the pony club running. Rates, lease, electricity, insurance, water as well as maintenance of the grounds and equipment and from time to time new equipment are some of the costs of keeping the club going. It is this extra income that allows us to have such a lovely place to ride and for those of us who agist, a lovely place to keep our horses.

Our next activity will be our March muster which we had originally set for Sunday 20th. We will let you all know if there are any chances with the date due to it clashing with a zone event.

On a very sad note, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Olivia Inglis who passed away after a tragic fall whilst eventing on the weekend.

Take care all

Cathy
